Who We Are

CollegeNET, Inc. is a Portland, Oregon-based, privately held company providing Intelligent Connections® web-based on-demand technologies to colleges, universities, and non-profits. We are engineers, technologists, designers, programmers, writers, and innovators – all dedicated to increasing your efficiency and simplifying your job. We currently serve over 1300 higher education and non-profit institutions worldwide.

Our Philosophy

Through 35 years of innovation, our goal remains simple: create ideas and technologies that advance the highest goals of education by allowing colleges and universities to operate more efficiently. We're pleased that our continuing stream of innovation has also contributed powerfully to a cleaner world.

Our History

CollegeNET began serving the administrative automation needs of higher education in 1979 with the invention of Schedule25®, the first automated classroom scheduling program. Further technological breakthroughs led to R25®, the first client server-based, campus-wide scheduling system. Then came 25Live®, the first completely web-based solution for campus-wide class, event, space, and resource management; followed by X25®, the first web-based graphical analysis tool for campus space planning. In 1995, CollegeNET became the first company to deliver administrative Software as a Service (SaaS) to higher education, with our multi-patented ApplyWeb® recruiting and admissions processing system. We continue to pioneer administrative efficiencies today including asynchronous video interviewing, international academic recruitment, and career services for students.

Support for Education and Social Mobility

CollegeNET has distributed more than $2.25 million worth of college scholarships and continues to provide direct financial support to campus programs that enhance social mobility. CollegeNET also developed the Social Mobility Index (SMI) to identify U.S. colleges and universities that best serve student success and social mobility. The Social Mobility Index ranks nearly 1,400 four-year institutions according to how effectively they enroll students from low-income backgrounds and graduate them into promising careers.

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

CollegeNET continues to develop technologies that reduce the consumption of paper and improve the efficient use of physical resources on campuses. Our web-based space planning systems can help institutions save tons of raw materials, energy, and millions of dollars in construction by making wiser building and space usage choices. Our web-based admissions services, including online application processing and evaluation, letters of recommendation, and recruitment communications, save enough paper each fall to wrap around the globe. Our faculty evaluation system recently saved one school $250,000 in paper costs – in one semester! These are ways we are helping institutions accomplish more while consuming less and, in the process, contributing to a cleaner world.
